Running plan for summer 2009
2 weeks ago i take part in Rigas Nordea marathon competition, for which did i trained for almost

all winter long. I didn’t want to force my body, so i decided to run a half marathon (21 km). The first time i ever run such long distance as in my trainings i usually run 8 – 12 km. My result i think is quite good for the first time. 144 place out of about 2.5 thousands competitors and my time 1 hour 32 minutes. Previously i predicted that my time
ought to be about 1:25, but it’s all right. There was some reasons, for example my shoes was not intended for running on tarmac surface, so i start to feel ache in my knees about in 16 – 17 km, which cause to slow down the speed. My target this summer is to achieve 1:20 in 21 km distance. Although i plan to take part in Daugavpils marathon to run 42 km distance at end of the summer. To achieve that i increased my training distance to 15 km (150 – 180 km in month)
My planned competitions:
25 Jul – 6 hour Latvian championship in rogain (announce dead time 15 jul – 10 Ls)
8 Aug – 21 km Kuldīgas half-marathon (announce dead time 8 jul – 5 Ls)
23 Aug – 42 km Daugavpils marathon (announce dead time 23 jul – 10 Ls)
27 Sep – 21 km Valmieras half-marathon (announce dead time 31 jul – 7 Ls)
29 Sep – 4 hour Folk-Rogain of Riga
